Interim
Pastor/Worship: Brett W. Marlowe
Brett
grew up in a Christian home where he always
heard about Jesus. At the age of 12, he
recognized his need for salvation and surrendered
his heart to the Lord at a youth revival
in Marietta, GA. While he understood the
message of salvation, he did not understand
discipleship and God's desire for him to
grow spiritually. It was not until his late
teenage years that he began to grow in his
walk with the Lord. God has graciously given
him many different opportunities including:
traveling for 9 years as a guitarist of
a Christian band; working for 6 years in
computer tech support at the South Carolina
Baptist Convention; participating on mission
trips to five continents; and serving for
6 years as a Student Minister in Columbia,
SC. He earned a BA degree from the University
of South Carolina. Brett followed God's
leading to serve in full-time ministry while
on a mission trip to Romania in 1998. He
is pursuing his Masters of Divinity from
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary,
and serving as Interim Pastor/Worship at
Gilbert Street Baptist Church. He enjoys
music, missions, reading, golf, college
football (Go Gamecocks!), hunting, and spending
time with family.
