Pastor:
Bill Morris
Bill
has lived in Raleigh for nearly twenty years
working as residential homebuilder. He spent
most of his childhood years in the small
town of Burgaw, in southeastern North Carolina.
In 1973 Bill surrendered his life to Jesus
at a youth rally in Wilmington, NC. On September
5, 2006 Bill had an awakening in his heart
that completely transformed his life and
he soon felt God calling him to the ministry.
He finally understood God’s purpose
for his life. This awakening moved Bill
to begin sharing the greatest news this
world has ever known with people everywhere
he went. In the fall of 2007 Bill along
with his family and friends began ministering
to the homeless in the downtown area of
Raleigh. In 2008 Bill had the opportunity
to share his faith on the streets of Amsterdam
and several surrounding towns in the Netherlands.
He also was part of a small team that conducted
a three day pastor’s conference and
four night crusade in Owerri, Nigeria where
over six hundred people surrendered their
lives to Jesus. In August of 2008 Bill accepted
God’s call to be the Associate Pastor
of Gilbert Street Baptist Church and in
October of 2009 was called to serve as the
Senior Pastor. Bill is a 1984 graduate of
The Citadel where earned a BS degree in
Business Administration. He is currently
a student at Southeastern Baptist Theological
Seminary pursuing a Masters of Divinity
degree in Evangelism. Bill and Beth, his
wife of eighteen years, have two wonderful
children, Cliff 14 and Abby 13. For enjoyment
Bill likes to spend time with his family
at the beach, playing golf, duck hunting,
camping and reading.
